Be part of something BIG, become a Lifeguard! Lifeguards are always in demand and if you are committed to helping prevent drowning, this is the job for you. This class will cover CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, all water skills and classroom work. Instructors: Mary Kay Gavitt and Karen Creaser. Prerequisites: Must be 15 years old on or before the final. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing, candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed, swim goggles may be used, tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs and candidates should place their hands under the armpits, complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds. Students must pass all water and written test with an 80% or higher. MUST ATTEND ALL SESSIONS!
